Pubs and Restaurants

Cardigan

Cardigan, West Wales, is an ancient town that sits on the estuary of the River Teifi at the base of Cardigan Bay. Its unspoilt townscape and rich heritage provide a nostalgic backdrop to a thriving culture of arts and crafts, events and music festivals.

Cardigan has a wide variety of amazing pubs and restaurants for you to visit, whether its lunch by the beach or a three-course meal, we have got you covered.

Here is a few of our favourite places to eat…

pizza tipi

Pizza Tipi is in an excellent location beside the river with plenty of outdoor seating, a good selection of local beer and great food.

The flat rock

The Flat Rock (Gwbeert) is a lovely Gastro pub with stunning views overlooking Poppit Sands beach.

The ferry inn

The Ferry Inn (St Dogs) is a charming Riverside Pub & Restaurant found on the way to Poppit Sands beach and makes for a great stop before or after a walk on the beach as well behaved dogs are welcome.

Stiwdio3

Stiwdio3 is a quirky café great for coffee cakes and lunches, in addition to this, it runs over 35 different craft workshops throughout the year and even has a craft store!

crwst

Crwst specialises in homemade bread, bakes, coffee and food made with quality ingredients using locally sourced produce.

Manucci’s

Manucci’s is a fantastic Italian restaurant serving lunch and dinner, recently opened in 2023 with an amazing dining terrace, this is not one to miss during your stay here.

The Printworks

Yr Hen Printwork’s is a high end tapas restaurant, serving fantastic cocktails and exquisite food, it was recently added to the Michelin guide so we will let that speak for itself.

The Copper Pot

Our favourite steak restaurant in Cardigan, with meat supplied from local high end butcher Tom Samways. Enough Said.

1176

Fantastic for a light lunch, and even better for a big Sunday dinner ! Book early to avoid disappointment for Sunday lunch at the castle.

Food for thought

Our favourite coffee shop in Cardigan, fantastic menu, amazing selection of drinks and cakes, never fails to hit the spot !

Sugandha

Cardigan has a few Indian restaurants but in our opinion, the best is in Aberporth just a few miles away. Sughanda has all the dishes you expect and lots you don’t. Our favourite Indian restaurant by far.

And further afield

here are some of our favourites, definitely tick them off on your travels while you are staying here…

nags head

Our favourite country / gastro pub is just 10 miles away and a few miles from the fantastic Cenarth Falls, it also has amazing waterfall walks nearby in Abercych where you can work off those calories ! Great beer, great food, great hosts, this one books up early so please book early during peak times.

Trewern Arms

Located just across the border in Pembrokeshire, this dog friendly pub has fantastic walks nearby (we highly recommend Ty Canol woods). A fantastic place to unwind after your woodland walk with the dog.

the daffodil

Another favourite for Sunday dinner, this one is a 30 min drive out past Newcastle Emlyn, but most definitely worth it. Go and visit Newcastle Emlyn on the way and kill two birds with one stone. This one is highly recommended especially for ale lovers.
